Adam Skoog
Adam is a Managing Member and Co-Founder of Looking Glass Realty Asheville, which officially opened its doors in early 2019. Adam and his business partner, Dylan Glasgow, built a dedicated team of real estate agents from the ground up. Within their first three years of operations, they had built a team that brokered over $100 million in local real estate transactions. As the Asheville office’s Broker-In-Charge, Adam firmly believes that the office’s success is due to the team’s shared appreciation for mountain culture and an authentic connection to this region’s creative community.
Adam serves as a commercial real estate broker for select developers and investors. He specializes in adaptive reuse projects, land development, multi-family, and value-added opportunities. He is an advocate for increasing access to outdoor recreation, green spaces, and pedestrian ways. Additionally, Adam is a Board Member of The Pisgah Conservancy, a leading non-profit in preserving the well-being of the region’s beloved Pisgah National Forest.
Adam is passionate about exploring the mountains through mountain biking, backpacking, climbing, and paddle boarding. Most importantly, he appreciates connecting with the mountains through adventures of any form or fashion. Some of his earliest and most formidable memories were forged in Pisgah National Forest. Adam feels indebted to the mountains of western North Carolina for providing him with a constant source of presence, groundedness, and clarity throughout his life. He is originally from Hickory, NC, and moved to Asheville shortly after finishing his university studies. He graduated from the University of Mississippi, earning a Spanish degree and a Business Administration degree.
Jesse Ratliff
A North Carolina resident for 23 years, I bring a deep understanding of the region’s real estate landscape, specializing in land acquisition, site selection, and strategic development. With a background in marketing and design for luxury real estate, I have a keen eye for identifying opportunities that maximize value for my clients.
In the past two years alone, I have successfully closed on over 700 acres, demonstrating my ability to assess raw land for its highest and best use. My expertise extends beyond traditional transactions—I have consulted for major corporations, helping them make data-driven real estate decisions that align with their business goals.
Notably, I worked with Flow Spring Water, Inc. as they expanded into the U.S., identifying a site with a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility significantly closer to the water source than anticipated resulting in a 10yr $30MM lease. This strategic selection resulted in substantial transportation cost savings. Additionally, I led the site selection process for a new concept backed by an $11 billion privately held company, conducting in-depth analyses of traffic patterns, zoning regulations, road access, and off-market property acquisitions.

Scott Nelson
Scott began his career in commercial real estate as a Marketing Director for a leading agency in Asheville before transitioning into brokerage. Since joining Looking Glass Realty Asheville he has remained in the top 5% in sales volume annually.
His prior experience in construction, from site planning to finishing work, gives him a comprehensive understanding of the building process from the ground up. This background has helped him cultivate a strong network of local builders and service providers, adding value to every transaction.
As an Asheville resident for over a decade, Scott brings a diverse skill set in marketing, design, and commercial real estate brokerage. His expertise in market analysis and strategic marketing—honed through past work with commercial real estate firms and healthcare industries across Western North Carolina—ensures that properties are positioned effectively and with the right road map. With Scott, clients benefit not only from his industry knowledge but also from a trusted network of professionals dedicated to their success.
